Project role: planner, architect, interior designer
The site chosen to address PinnacleHealth's mission of creating an ambulatory service environment on the West Shore consists of 39 acres of rolling foothills in Mechanicsburg, PA which looks out towards the Central Pennsylvania Blue Mountains. The site provided the unique opportunity to allow multiple floor, on grade access with maximum fenestration. The primary design focus addressed two key elements. First, building orientation to optimize the magnificent views and natural characteristics of the site. Second, convenient family and outpatient accessibility to all services in a multistory building on a vastly rolling site. Through teamwork and collaboration, PinnacleHealth System and Granary Associates created a facility that is innovative and flexible; one that increases the System's ambulatory care operational effectiveness and enhances both staff and physician efficiency while providing the utmost in outpatient care.
The complex includes a 60,000 SF, 4-story Medical Office Building which houses private physician offices, an optical shop and pharmacy with easy access to the diagnostic services in the adjoining Outpatient Service Center for 'one stop shopping' healthcare. The 77,000 SF, 2-story Outpatient Health and Clinical Services Center houses a full compliment of medical services components. Granary Associates is also working with the Pinnacle Health System in the completion of the next phase of development for this campus, the 27,000 SF Community General Osteopathic Rehabilitation Hospital and 30,000 SF Medical Office Building.
